We’ve been trying to pitch a skateboard game for YEARS!! So getting to finally build one, and use an actual skateboard as the controller, was pretty damn satisfying.
This year we created Kaiser Permanente’s FIFA World Cup experience in LA from the ground up, from the original idea and design to the games and tech behind it.

The main event was our LA skate game, built in @unrealengine . You actually stood on a real skateboard and skated through the city weaving through traffic, dodging obstacles, popping kickflips and tre flips, and trying to put a clean line together as you went.
Before hitting the streets, players could warm up with an LA trivia challenge, using their body to stretch toward answers and test how well they actually knew the city.
There was also a quieter recovery moment with guided meditation for anyone who wanted to reset before jumping back in.

We wanted the whole thing to feel like LA, feel physical, and most importantly feel fun enough that you forgot you were standing inside a branded activation.
The whole space was built with our friends FTB Design , who handled the fabrication and helped turn our designs into the real thing.
